Welcome to the Online Interface of
Faculty of Agriculture, Khalsa College Amritsar.
 

Khalsa College, Amritsar a premier institute of higher learning, was established 112 years ago by the founder leaders of the Singh Sabha Movement. Inspired by the lofty ideals of their great Gurus, the leaders planned establishing an educational institution which would strive forever to achieve excellence of the mind and body for the welfare of the youth. The architectural grandeur of the building and campus layout clearly demonstrate the "will" of the founders. Right from the beginning, inspired and hard-working personalities have been associated with the College. The eminence of its faculty and the grandeur of the state-of-art facilities have been the main attractions. The aim of growing into a University continues to inspire this institution.

The Institute of Agriculture is situated in a separate building besides the farm backside of the Main college building.

(No. of seats: 70 ; 10 seats reserved for J&K state candidates)
B.Sc Food Technology Course Duration:4 Years    * No. of Seats: 40

Aims & Objectives:
The college is working towards making individuals aware of the vast opportunities in higher education as and when they open up. The College has set forth following goals as its aims and objectives:

  • To impart quality education and promote research.
  • To develop among students high standards of morality, culture and character as taught by our Great Sikh Gurus and laid down in the Sikh Holy Holy Book "The Adi Granth" (Sri Guru Granth Sahib).
  • To impart proper physical training and shape up the minds.
  • To inculcate qualities of integrity, fellow- feeling and patriotism amongst the students thus developing intelligent and useful citizens for the nation.

Our Campus: The Faculty of Agriculture is housed in a separate double storied building with spacious, air-cooled classrooms, well equipped laboratories and an auditorium. The main building houses the Departments of Agriculture and Food Technology. Attached to the institute is a 220 acre student farm for research, training and demonstration; a dairy farm, implement holding area; a horticultural nursery, orchards & a vineyard. The farm is irrigated by its own network of irrigation pumps and underground irrigation system. A portion of farm is reserved for student research experiments and demonstration plots. There is a Farmer's training center & apiary in the farm.
